Bockfest Returns 

Bockfest returns to Cincinnati the first weekend of March and we’re brewing up something special for it! Bockfest celebrates a style historically brewed by monks in Germany. A bit of a loophole to lent, bocks were brewed as hearty, rich lagers that helped the monks through their fasting. This style is right at home in the German-rooted city of Cincinnati and brewers throughout town craft their own every year—so much so that there’s a festival dedicated to it. 

As a special release for the weekend, we’ve partnered up with a team of epic bakers from our neighboring Findlay Market for the second year. In collaboration with Makers Bakers, we’re releasing Cinnamon Roll Breakfast Bock to bring a Cincinnati favorite baked good to life in the form of a beer. Brewed using their iconic cinnamon rolls in the mash, followed by additions of vanilla and cinnamon, this is the best breakfast beer on the planet, in our humble opinion. Cinnamon Roll Breakfast Bock will be available on draft and in bottles at the Taproom starting March 1st. Makers Bakers is a Black-owned bakery that continually shows up on Cincinnati City Beat’s “best of Cincinnati” lists for their sweet and savory treats, most notably their Cheesecakes, Cinnamon Rolls, and Banana Pudding. We knew owners Kevin and Tara would be the perfect partners for making this treat of a beer come to life! 

In honor of Samuel Adams’ 40th anniversary, we’ll also be featuring a favorite throwback. Double Bock was our first ever seasonal beer, debuting in 1988. Intense and warming, Double Bock is an indulgent lager brewed with over a half-pound of malt in each can. The bold malts create a deep mahogany color, rich caramel sweetness, and a smooth body that’s balanced by the subtle citrus of German Noble hops. 

Join us for the release of these two great bocks on March 1st. We’ll also have live music in the Taproom starting at 5:30PM on Saturday, March 2nd to keep the Bockfest party going.
